Ahh, Valentine’s Day; the day to celebrate LOVE. Here at Knotlow Farm, we have new Dorper lambs skipping in the straw and the snow has melted, leaving everywhere fresh and cool and browny green, with the leaves of snowdrops sticking out of the bank behind the glamping pods like small green spears. Spring is just round the corner.

If you’re staying with us here at Knotlow Farm, you could celebrate Valentine’s Day with a takeaway, followed by a shared bottle of Prosecco in one of our hot tubs; or go for a special meal out. There are so many nice places to try locally. If you’re staying in one of our glamping pods or the B&B this month, we recommend that you treat yourself and your partner to a delicious meal out. We’ve taken a quick look at three of the best to tempt your palate:

Pie Daniels in Bakewell, serving traditional French cuisine in picturesque Bath Street, is the perfect setting for a romantic meal. The décor is uncluttered and relaxed, and the husband and wife team of chefs are truly enthusiastic about their profession. Food is locally sourced and cooked fresh on the premises.

Simply Thai in Buxton are doing a special set Valentine’s Day menu for £28 per head on the 14th February. We can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. The staff are lovely and the food is always delicious. Plus, they do stunning cocktails.

Rajas Indian Restaurant in Bakewell, near the bridge on the Baslow road, is also a favourite of ours. They do great takeways as well as meals in, so if you did want to spend your evening relaxing in the hot tub behind your glamping pod with a cheeky bottle of Prosecco, we would recommend picking up something to bring back from Rajas. Plus, they somehow always manage to sneak some freebies such as a bag of popadoms and extra sauces into your bag. Yum!
