It’s Christmas at Chatsworth House in the Peak District National Park – just 15 minutes’ drive from Knotlow Farm B&B. Because we love visiting the great house ourselves, we thought we’d give you the run-down on what to expect when you go!

Chatsworth Christmas Market runs from 17 November 2017–5 December 2017, Monday to Friday, 10am to 5.30pm, and Saturday–Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

There are over 100 market stalls at Chatsworth House this year, with all kinds of Christmas gifts and decorations for sale. Their outdoor bars will be serving German beer and mulled wine – we always pay a visit to soak up the festive spirit. What better way to get in the mood for a country Christmas in the Peak District?

Oh Dickens! It’s Christmas runs from 11 November 2017–7 January 2018
During the festive season this year, Chatsworth House will be dressed for Christmas and paying homage to some of Charles Dickens’ most loved literary works. Get a sense of what it would have been like visiting Dickensian London – both the splendour and the squalor. Try on a range of Victorian costumes. Take in the Victorian shop fronts and London Docks. There are also very recognisable characters from Dickens’ books roaming the house, such as Fagin, Bill Sikes and the melancholy Miss Havisham.

Chatsworth are selling tickets to the experience online here. https://www.chatsworth.org/book-tickets
